Two drag queens and a transexual ride through the desert in Australia singing and dancing.
Mostly this film is about how long they spend stuck in the desert with a broken down van. They dress up and practice their dancing in the middle of the desert before finally reaching their destination and doing a show.
Hugo Weaving and Guy Pearce are the drag queens. Guy Pearce plays the character that always goes too far. Doesn't know when to drop it and leave it alone, drinks to much and draws way to much attention to himself. He manages to get himself into quite a lot of trouble and picks fights with all the wrong people.
Hugo Weaving has a wife and son that he never told anyone about. His son decides that he's ok with his dad dressing up and dating other men, which makes everything ok and the show can go on.
It's a pretty humorous film and it's good to see actors broadening their horizons. Made in 1994, there's probably a reason as to why most people haven't seen this film. The idea of drag queens can be weird for some people. It's got great music and is very enjoyable, but it's not the best film ever made... but then I don't think anyone thought it would be.
