Shadowlands

As tribute to Lord Richard Attenborough I borrowed this film from Jojo and watched a magical production of some of the life of C.S Lewis.

Anthony Hopkins is once again both moving and sublime in his performance as Lewis. Opposite Debra Winger (whom i didn't know of until now), the audience is reduced to tears towards the end of the film and are constantly sitting with their fingers in their mouths.
It's wonderful to watch a film about love and not just about sex and lust. Love just as love is powerful and wonderful and this film brings back a reminder about how powerful love is.

This film won the BAFTA for film of the year and it thoroughly deserves the award. Richard Attenborough directs a film that is a reminder of what the film industry really is and what it can be. It has the power to bring about emotion in no other way.

This film is perfect from beginning to end. There are some fantastic moments when i burst out laughing and moments when i wanted to cry. This film has everything in it and most importantly it is a reminder to keep reading C.S. Lewis and not just the Chronicles of Narnia.
