Napoleon Dynamite

Esther told me that it was a really good film- it wasn't. It was an ok film.
It's almost like most John Hughes films about the socially inept 'loser' except that in John Hughes films they get the really pretty girl or the really popular guy and everything is ok. In Napoleon dynamite he doesn't get the really popular girl but he everyone does cheer his dancing at the end.
His dancing made me laugh more than i laughed about anything excluding friends series nine. It's quite a comical twist, instead of being typical and obvious they decide to make him popular in a different way.

Bassically to cut a long story short- Napoleon's uncle comes to stay with him and his brother while their aunt is recovering from some kind of injury. Napoleon's uncle sets up a weird business that seems to be a con more than anything else and he successfully manages to get the really popular girl to go to the dance with Napoleon by telling her mother that he's still a bed wetter and all those other things to make them take pity on him. She makes her daughter go to the dance with him. So just when you start to like him, he manages to make the girl that actually likes Napoleon become really angry with Napoleon... so he has his good and bad moments.
Napoleon makes friends with some hispanic guy and Pedro tries to become class president/ year group president/ whatever it is Americans do that involves presidents in schools. That's when Napoleon dances because he realises that Pedro doesn't have anything planned to showcase his talent.

As i've already said- some of it made me laugh a lot. It's not a bad film at all, it's just not as good as my sister said it was going to be.

I want to mention something about my post on the girl with the dragon tattoo. I didn't watch the sexual scenes and i'm not a fan of sexual violence. It is a very weird film, but i really liked the female character and I also liked the story line a lot- that's why i really like the film.
