No Country For Old Men

The first Cohen brothers film that I have seen and liked. I have to admit that i haven't seen that many of their films but O Brother Where Art Thou and Burn after Reading were both aweful films.

So this film led by Tommy Lee Jones and Javier Bardem made for quite an excellent film. I would say that Javier Bardem always plays slightly weird characters but he has a normal character in Eat Prey Love. If you've seen Skyfall then his character in this film is in some ways quite similar. He's a murderer out to find his money that was taken by a guy that stumbled across a deal that had turned sour. Both parties were shot and dead and so he picked up the money and ran off with it. Bardem had just managed to escape his police escort, removed the handcuffs and is now chasing after the man who stole his money.

Tommy Lee Jones is the police officer and ultimately the good guy. He doesn't die (I don't remember him dying) and manages to keep a solid performance throughout. The amount of times that Both Bardem and the guy he's chasing get shot at and end up with bullet fragments in them is almost ridiculous but as they never get shot in the chest it's not unreal. The story was good and I liked the film.
