The Usual Suspects

This is another film off our list and just to clarify- the next few posts coming off this account are being written by Clare.

I watched the usual suspects yesterday. Esther had said that it was almost pointless, but i disagree. I was greatly impressed by Pete Postlethwaite. I had seen him in a number of films: Brassed off, Inception, Romeo and Juliet and Aeon Flux; liking him very much in every role. In this film, with Kevin Spacey, he holds a very strong accent and isn't afraid of people threatening his life. He's very calm and composed in his role, able to slip in and out of the story without too much trouble.

The story line in itself could do with a bit of re-developing, but it's still good enough for me. I enjoyed the story development and the acting from each of the main guys. It's perhaps not as gangster like as some of your traditional films like scarface and goodfellas, but it's got more of a story and isn't just about shooting people and cocaine. There's no drugs in it at all, just shooting people.

Esther thought it was a bit pointless and went nowhere, Clare disagree's, what do you think?

Next post is on the Butler!
