The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift. The third installment of the series but after looking it up it was suggested that this film actually comes somewhere in between the fifth and sixth films. Weird thinking considering that this film was made years before those were even in production.
Lucas Black, now in NCIS New Orleans, could I get over his irritating accent? No. I watched this film in anticipation, hoping that he would have been a star in this film and less like Chris O'Donnell but that wasn't the case, instead it was almost a replica performance and career take. It seems weird that in the spin off series of NCIS they have gone for two guys to lead who look kinda similar and made the same mistakes in their careers- known for one film and have now gone to be part of a truly fantastic tv series. I saw nothing in his performance that could convince anyone that he could act. Lucas Black was following in the footsteps of Paul Walker, in almost every way. The performance from him was not any better than the terrible performances from Paul Walker- these are just guys playing on their looks and a bit of charm instead of any real talent.
A nice cameo from Vin Diesel to help confuse anyone that was thinking that this film followed on from 'Two Fast, Two Furious'. Nothing more to say about him as it really was a cameo for about a minute at the end of the film.
The last minute of the film ties this film to the original series, apart from that there is nothing to tie them together and nothing to actually make this film part of the series except that they have a new american guy driving cars around at high speed and they have moved most of the location to Japan. This film is probably the worst one that I have seen so far.
