Jailhouse Rock

we're used to seeing Bing Crosby and Frank Sinatra (to name a few) starring in the musicals of old time. This one is even older. Elvis Presley stars in this black and white movie as a country singer. Well a guy who gets stuck in prison for a year for manslaughter, shares a cell with a former country singer and is taught to play the guitar and how to sing (not that he needed it). He develops a plan to become a singer and finds, like Joaquin Phoenix did in walk the line that it's easier said than done.

Feeling is essential in singing and he learns about it and then of course, someone pinches his arrangement and makes it famous. One thing leads to another and he finds a way to become famous, forgetting all about everyone that got him there and thinking only about the money.

It's ok. I like the music in it but i'm not so convinced on the acting and the plot line. I don't think Elvis really made a good actor. This is just my opinion. Feel free to watch it and disagree with it.
