The Kite Runner.

A quote on the back of this film says "The Kite Runner allows us to believe that there may be justice in the world". Like so many films this is a film about political unrest, injustice and the path of someone who attempts to restore justice to their life and the it's rightful place.

Parts of this film were too painful and emotional to watch but we just fast Forward and carry on watching the film because we know that it is not a film that we can turn off. The Kite runner is not a film that should be turned off, even if you struggle with it emotionally, you should keep going with it because it will help you to feel like you have achieved something in the end. If you have read the book then you will know and understand what will happen in the film. Even watching this film with subtitles isn't a problem, you don't lose anything from the subtitles and in some ways it makes it a little easier to watch.

Even though this films focus is on the book written and the sport of kite fighting it's really about the friendship between Amir and Hassan and how Amir goes back for Hassan after leaving him. Friendship like this is hard to come by and is wonderful to see, even if it is only a film based on a true story. In different countries they understand and appreciate what real friendship is, sometimes in our countries we forget what it is or our friends forget. Everyone should watch this film once so that they can understand what it means to be a real friend.

Justice was served in this film and it allows us to feel happy and smile at the end of the film. I'm not talking about stand out performances, i'm taking about the plot and the hidden and not so hidden messages in the film. Look out for your friends- you trust them and like being around them for a reason. A real friend is hard to find but easy to push away.
